11th-15th December 2014 – A meeting of the research team of the project MCCA. Among the participants will be project manager in Germany, Ms Bistra Andreeva (PhD). Venue: Warsaw University, Institute of Specialised and Intercultural Communication, ul. Szturmowa 4, Warsaw.    

20th-21st November 2014 – The first meeting of the research team of the project Language of boundaries – boundaries of language. Paralinguistic aspects of intercultural communication, a project financed by the Polish research programme NPRH. The research team includes members of the project MCCA. Venue: Adam-Mickiewicz-University, Poznań.

20th-22nd November 2014  Mariusz Mela (MA) took part in PALC 2014 (Practical Applications of Language Corpora) Conference in Łódź, Poland, presenting a paper prepared together with Prof. Silvia Bonacchi Pragmalinguistic annotation of casual conversational discourse. 23rd-25th October 2014 – Professor Silvia Bonacchi and Mariusz Mela (MA) took part in CLARIN Annual Conference in Soesterberg, Holland (to go to the conference's official website [click here]), and presented a poster outlining their experiences with using computer programmes within the project MCCA and suggesting a few improvements. 12th-14th May 2014 – Professor Silvia Bonacchi and Bistra Andreeva (PhD) presented a lecture "You mofu!/Du Arsch! Che merda! Ty zlamasie!: Derogatives or supportives? Some remarks about the illocutionary structure, the cultural relevance and the prosodic realization of utterances in banter-function (mock impoliteness and mock insults)" at the conference EPICS IV: Pragmatic Perspectives on Language Aggression and Conflict, Seville, Spain.

15th April 2014 – guest lecture of professor Ingo Warnke (Bremen University) with the title "(Post)koloniale Semantizität deutscher Ortsnamen" ("Post-colonial semanticism of German local names"), Institute of Anthropocentric Linguistics and Culturology, Warsaw University.  

3rd April 2014 – guest lecture of professor Herbert Fitzek (Business School Berlin) with the title "Psychologie in Bildern" ("Psychology in pictures"), Institute of Anthropocentric Linguistics and Culturology, Warsaw University.  

26th-29th March 2014 – Mariusz Mela (MA) took part in the 18th Conference for Studies in Conversation Analysis (18. Arbeitstagung zur Gesprächsforschung) of the Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim, Germany, as well as in a workshop about the use of the computer programme Folker and transcription conventions GAT2.
